Virginija Craig studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania, and graduated with MFA and Designers profession.
Since then she worked in Design, Animation, Set dressing, Restoration, Fiber Arts, Staging etc.
She has been teaching children, adults and university students.
Virginija Craig has been painting and showing her art in Ottawa, Prince Edward County and in Gananoque. She presently lives in Ottawa.
Virginija believes that Great Works of Art are there for us to study.
An artist should learn from the experience of The Great Masters, then work in his/her own way, not because that is the only way the artist knows but because the artist chose it.
Virginija Craig paints landscapes, still life, portraits and abstracts. Most often she paints in oil on canvas and water colour. Virginija likes traditional art techniques, but changes her style depending on the subject.
In the past few years Virginija has directed more attention to Photography. While applying same principles of Art to Photography this media offers many new posibilities.
